Second to the last weekend of Archery season. Ken, Sarah, George and I went for the three day weekend. We had so much fun!! The only problem was that we didn't see any bucks!! Made it back today despinte the awful fire a few canyons away! Got some great pics! Not only did Chippie (the wild deer that I posted pics of the guys feeding) come in and let Sarah feed her, she brought a couple of her friends! Sarah got to see her fawn who was still spotted. The other doe, who we named cracker, had never come into camp to be fed before. Sarah after an hour or so of coaxing, managed to had feed her some chips and she even licked Sarah's hand! She wouldn't let her yearling into the camp though. Sarah named the yearling cookie and Chippie's fawn dip! We got some fantastic pictures of the fire too. This is Sarah by the spring where all the hunters fill up their water The rest of the spring After Saturday morning's hunt

This is Chippie's fawn, we only saw her for a second before her momma shooed her from the camp site! Ken walked this ridge for his Sunday morning hunt. Sarah and I stayed in the tent and slept!!! This hill is about a 75 degree angle, with tracks coming down and a doe at the tree line on top. Was really funny . . we were coming back to the camp site from our Sunday evening hunt, and getting water from the spring and a truck load of guys passed us. They rolled down the back window and yelled "the deer are all in your camp site!!" When we got there Chippie, Cracker, her yearling who we named cookie were all there waiting for dinner!!

This is the lookout at Hayfork Ballley Summit, elevation approximately 8000 feet at the top of the tower. Ken's rig from the top of the tower . . yes, I did go up!!! Sarah and the ranger inside the lookout. The ranger was really nice. She had just baked a batch of brownies and gave Sarah one. she gave her a bunch of smokey the bear stuff too.

great pictures mom, thank you for shareing them with us, it sure looks like a nice place to camp and hunt, I sure get a kick out of the deer comeing into your camp site to eat chips and crakers lol in this neck of the country they would be table fare at camp lol we have so many deer in parts of are state its open season on them, here it cost 10 bucks to shoot a doe and like 14 or 15 bucks a buck, deer season will open soon less than a month and then we have 3 months to hunt them, most of the 3 months is bow hunting only, we have 10 days of black powder and 15 days of regular gun season, with some area with longer gun hunts, my state havest around 500,000 deer a year and we have over 1 million hunters that hunt deer, most all the antlerless deer have to be hunted on privet land, some areas allow antlerless hunting on public land, the area i hunt is just privet land this year, are deer numbers here are where the state wants them so we can only harvest antlerless deer on privet land and there was only 2000 antlerless tags for the county I live in, the county next to me only has 1500 privet land antlerless tags, but some countys have close to 20,000 antlerless tags per county for privet land and most that have lots of the tags for privet have public land tags aswell but not near that many, again thanks for the pictures, I hope to get hunting soon and take some pictures to post, Hapy Hunting...
