Old Joe went to hound heaven today. He had been having trouble with his back legs and could hardly walk when he got up. He was around 15 or 16!! He had a rough life before we got him he was some hunter's cull or he fell outta the truck or maybe he just didn't find his owners and they left him in the woods. However he ended up in the woods and with the hound rescue, we got him at age 9 or 10. About 3 months later he was hit by a truck on a hunting trip and it cost him his nose. Broke it and tore it to bits. $1000 to fix it (thank God for tax returns) He has lived in the house since then and has been living the easy life. The past couple of weeks he has gotten real bad. Waited for Ken to get home and take him to the vet. I couldn't do it, even though I knew it needed to be done. A few shots from Joe's life: Pic of Old Joe and my grandson Robbie Joe with Sissy, Sammie the pekagneese and Mykee the cat. Joe takin it easy in two of his favorite spots - my couch and my bed!!

Sorry Angi! I remember old Joe! I don't think you had ever told us the whole story about him though! Such a great thing you did taking him in and letting him live the easy life. It's hard having to put them down , but you know -- you somehow get a good feeling knowing you have done the right thing. Great pictures! The pictures say it all!

Thanks you two!! It has been hard, cut necessary. I bawled like a baby when Robbie asked when he was gonna come back. When we told him that Joe couldn't come baci, he cried "but I love him! He is my doggie" Sarah is doing pretty well with it. She saw the pain every day as Ken and I did.
