It was nice to get home yesterday afternoon about 6. We had a great week-end vacation. Drove over a thousand miles. Saw some great fall color and mountan scenes in North Carolina and breath taking mountain streams and winding roads in North Georgia as well as fall color. Beautiful up around Hiawassee and Dahlonega Georgia. We didn't get to see if we could find any gold. Lots of traffic on the roads in the area so it was hard to get pictures. Stopped at the North Georgia Outlet Center just to look. People were really on Ga 400 between there and Atlanta! We drove by the Cherokee Casino in Cherokee NC but didn't stop to gamble! ;D Angi..we bumped into a couple from Monterey Cal at one of the overlooks in NC. They said they flew into Atlanta and drove to Ashville to visit relatives ... and they told them they just HAD to drive at least a short distance along the Blueridge Parkway to see the Fall Color! They said they had never seen anything like it -- it was well worth the time. Have a good morning everyone!

We took 412 total. Some of them are very good but I don't think quite capture what is seen by the naked eye. Some of you see that every day so it's not so impressive to you I'm sure. . We even got some of the rain and fog on the roads. It was rainy, foggy and dark when we got the turkey pix and the wild bear. It was blowing drizzle and fog while we were near the top of one of the mountains. Rainy and windy on top of Grand Father Mountain. We took the otter, eagle and some of some bears that were in captivity while there. We didn't see the deer or cougar out. I suppose they were laid up somewhere. there is a suspension walk bridge up there but we didn't walk the trail to it. The wind was gusting to 30 and it was misting rain and fog. We were sort of wishing we were not up there during those times but it never really rained hard. It would have been a big problem if it had. I think we did quite well with the pix in the rain fog and drizzle considering. We have a lot of work to do on the pix but I'll try to pick out some to post -- if any of you really want to see them.

Morning!! Of course you know we all want to see the pics Johnny!! What, you gonna make us beg for em??? OK, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! LOL You tooo funny. Glad you made it home safe and sound. Worry about my friends when they are out traveling! Specially in inclament weather! Gal, can't wait to see your pics too!! I didn't take many while we were trick or treating. Got a couple at the costume contest. (Oh, did I write before that JT won 1st place for the 0-3 year olds? )
Johnny, that is cool that you directed those people from Monterey. Monterey is really pretty though, so if they said they had never seen anything like it, it must just be phenomenal!! Can't wait for the pics!!

Johnny, sounds like you and Mari had a great time. It's good to get away, even for a long weekend drive. Things here are good. It's a beautiful day, the hounds are running small furry critters in the thicket -- they've been running and bawling all morning, they'll sleep well this afternoon. Tonight is drawing class. Not much else happening here. Later... : )
