Dad and I took my 2 females out about 1:30 Friday. I just resecured the hottest rabbit hunting land in the county, thought I had lost it , but thats another story, anyway, we no sooner got into the thicket then we jumped one of those woods rabbits I was telling you about. The females got online and put the hammer to him. Now they're not fast, they just keep moving forward. We split up and got into position on each side of the jump area and I wandered ahead a little bit to get a clear shot. So they circled the bunny and I rolled him with the .20 Beretta. I left it lay so the pup could finally figure out what she has been running. They turned right around from that bunny and jumped one sitting right next to where I just shot the first one. They ran him in a big 3/4 circle and he holed, as they were coming back to me the jumped another and put it on him so I crossed the fence so I could get a clear shot, I knew there was a hole where they were at, but was hoping the bunny would keep running or they would jump another in the process. Well, they jumped something alright, but not a bunny. The bunny went into the hole while I was standing there watching, all of the sudden a HUGE Boar Coon came barreling out of the same hole and running right at me. The females stopped dead in their tracks and looked at it. I was amazed at first, then I whipped up the gun and blasted. This coon weighed 24lbs and was over 33" long. I have hunted since I was big enough to walk, about 33 years or so, and have never seen that happen before. My dad came back and was amazed also, but he was cracking up when he put the coon in my pouch, just thinking about me having to lug all that weight back to the truck.
