I did get out over the weekend and put up a nice bear with a guy. He hadn't ever ran dogs before, so watching them rig, jump and go tree a bear was all new to him. The dogs did strike a bear around 8:30 AM I believe, so I put ole Ike on the ground and he went right to it. The bear had crossed the road but the dirt was hard and I had to follow Ike to find the track. He had rigged true though, as there was a few flat spots, so down went Ryan, Choco, Rowen, Kody, Griz and Sam. It wasn't long and they jumped him, up out of the canyon and over the top on a hard run. Soon, I could hear them coming back into the canyon below us and they fell on the wood. It's pretty neat to take someone to the tree for their first time....kinda special you know. The bear was a nice one for sure and in a tall, open ponderosa. We shot some video and a few photos. I hoped the rest of you are having fun witht he hounds. Keep'em treed! IKe
