nice pictures, sure wish i could get snow to bear hunt on, man could find tracks every where and save tons of gas money not haveing to drag roads, we drag roads here to look for fresh tracks in the morning, coarse we all so rig and run off baits if we have too, it takes the best of the best bear dogs to run off baits, baits get so many trash critters on them after the bear opens them by time you get there in the morning your dog has to take the bear track through coons, skunks, coyotes, etc. thats why I like to just look for tracks on the drags or rig, are sections are way to big to free cast, on the rare occation we do get a snow in bear season its a free for all, ive hunted bears round 20 years andcan coun on one hand how many times i looked for tracks on the snow, I do have some good pictures but cant figure out how to scann them to post, someday I learn lol have a great day...

Bear I need to ask a dumb question. Is that bear in the tree that the man is climbing dead. Looks like he lodged in that fork. Other wise that is a brave SOB climbing the tree.

We had several hang up last year.It happens sometime when ya shoot em in the head.Plus our "kill" gun is a 450 marlin.Ended up cutin a long pole for that one,the climber ran out of steam once he got up there.LOL The one whith me and Speck we used a chain saw,and the other that hung up the long pole method was used again.

That looks like a tough climb having to bear hug your way up to the bear--but good job! I've had a few lion and bear die in the tree as well, one of which we had to cut down to retrieve the lion.
Keep'em treed! ike
