Ken spent the weekend hunting and got home last night around 8:30 minus two of my dogs!!!! Sissy and Lightening didn't make it back to the truck. Jessica tried to get down to them but they were in a . . gosh, not sure what you call it, between two really steep ridges. Ken fears that they were baying a bear and it knocked them over a ledge and they couldn't get back up. Said it was sheer rock. He had to come back and bring Joe and Jess home cuz Joe had to work today. A buddy that lives not far from there is gonna check on them this morning. Ken left his tracker with Mel and left food and a blanket/sweatshirt with his scent on it off the side of the trail. I'm just worried. Ken had to work today and then he is going up tonight either to pick them up from Mel if he gets to them today, or he is gonna spend the night and track them tomorrow. Yall keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer. I sure would miss my little Sissy if they don't make it back!! Lightening too.

Ken got a call at about 4:30 - Mel had gone to check again and Sissy was on Ken's shirt. She tried to bite his gonads when he tried to get her. He decided to leave her till Ken got there. Still tracking Lightening in about the same spot. Ken should be there by now and have Sissy loaded up. He is out of cell phone range so I am gonna have to sit tight and wait till tomorrow for the news.

Ken called this morning, had Sissy in the truck with him. Said she slept under the blanket with him!! Lightening is still tracking in the same spot. I am getting worried. Hope she is ok. Sissy went to her and then came up to the road. For what ever reason, Lightening can't get. The reason is scary. Ken said Sissy's feet were hamburger, she cried when she had to get up to walk to him. He has been using Tough Pad and Pad heal on them for a couple of months. Sissy's feet are tougher than Lightenings. Maybe she just is too sore. I will post as soon as he calls. He is hiking in right now to track her.

Ken had to come home last night for work today. Still no Ligthtening. He was tracking her and said she had climbed up on the ridge and was running around up there. Makes no sence to me!! I think he is just wrong with the tracker. Said he tracked her strongest near Mel's house. Maybe she is trying to go there. She has been there several weekends and was there last year too. Maybe she is keying on the dog scent and headed that way. He left food and a shirt at Mels, and two places on the road. Joe, Jes and George are supposed to go up today. Mel has been checking and he has alerted almost everyone in the small town. Everyone has promised to call. If she is ok and running lost, she will eventually get so hungry she goes to a house or something to get food. Keep on praying! She came to us lost, I sure whould hate to lose her that way!!!!

Wishing you the best of luck finding her. It's a miserable feeling with them out that way. Hope Ken is right and she is moving. I know the signal can bounce and fool a person. I lost my Rambler dog for 3 days some years back. Didn't have tracking equipment then. He finallly turned up in the area he was cast from. I had made up my mind he was dead and was shocked to find him. He's dead and gone now, but I still haven't forgiven myself for that experience. I learned from that to NEVER give up on them unless you see a dead body. Hope she turns up safe and sound.
