Hey VC...sure hope you don't break trough the ice again. Hope you have a better day than me, too. Soon as I got about 7 miles south of Lake Superior I discovered we had an inch of fresh snow covering tracks made before daylight. Figured I still had a chance to possibly find a cat track under the pines. I found tracks alright...2 wolves had recently walked the road. From the tip of the wolfs nail to the heal of the rear pad was about 4 inches long. Burned up some more gasoline, but didn't find anything. Plan on going again tomorrow.

rich, once again,i wound up wet,in the first pic you can see the cat went through as well.i circled and recut the track but it ended up going across the lake.i dont want to loose my sled,so i believe i will keep at it and hope for colder weather and more ice.i wish i could luck out and find one going into the hardwoods instead of staying on the rivers and lakes.once there is safe ice i believe them critters could be in trouble as i am on a mission.i weasled my way into getting a pup out of some excellent stock today from a guy who live close by and does alot of professional guideing out west,so i was glad for that oppertunity.hope you cut a nice one and get some runnin in,sure glad i havent found any of them tracks like you, else i may have to borrow some yote dogs and give it a try.haha just kidding,i wish there was something to keep them critters outta the huntin areas.have a great day. jerry

VC thanks for the update. Ever since you're earlier post I have been worry you'd take another" Nestea Plunge." Glad you got out of there ok. I avoid hunting around the river in this weather...with the fast current neither man nor dog would have much of a chance. Maybe it's a good time to take the Tundra on a big recon mission and find a cat away from big water.
