Weather conditions fouled up cat hunting possibilities again today. Just enough snow fell just before daylight to cover tracks. Seemed like a good day to burn up a bunch of gasoline, scouting a new area. Loggers had opened a national forest road going into some big remote country, but weren't hauling out of there yet so I had the road to myself. Only went about a mile, and as I rounded a bend in the road...there's fresh wolf tracks hauling ass into thick cover. Imagine he heard the truck and bolted. Sure would like to find a spot where wolves ain't inhabiting.
