I loaded five hounds today and went for a little trip to the field. The best track I found was a middle sized one and probably two days old. I continued to cut until around 11:00 A.M. then went back and roaded the hounds into the track. The track didn't seem very good but I let them go down it anyways, after all, what else was a guy to do? It was probably a couple hundred yards before my first hound even opened on the track. I remember thinking: will I get my dogs back tonight? My hounds trailed down off the ridge we were on and weren't going very darn fast, so I hustled back to my ATV and drove around to meet them. Now it didn't take me very long to get around there but those darn hounds sounded treed when I got into earshot of them. I thought, no way! A little more investigation lead me across the run where I found drag marks where that darn lion had killed a deer--now how lucky is that? Those hounds turned a useless track into a lion tree in nothing flat! Keep'em treed! ike Ike with Ryan and Rowen under the tree, both hounds were nine years old last summer. That redtick hound in the distance is my two year old Kody out of Ryan....he appears as near a clone of his old man as could be possible.
