Tried to run a local yote, hounds did a nice job of working him up about 2 hours after dark, ran him good for about an hour and then he trotted down a dirt road for a couple miles and by the time the hounds got that figured out it was back to cold tracking so I picked um up, just too dry for any barn burning races here. My son took a job working evenings and will soon be in college days so I will need a running partner to run with in northern part of state, I normally run up north, but it cost me $83.00 to fill my truck so I tried a local yote, I will get an ass chewing from somebody if I keep this up, but then thats part of owning hounds. ;D

Hey VanCreek; when I told my 19 year old son I made that post he said" I pity the poor bastard that replies to it" Not sure if he meant that because of me or my dogs, I think he meant me because he went on to say "they would be better off with a trained Monkey". I personally don't think you can teach a Monkey to drive, talk on a CB, or walk on snowshoes for miles, well maybe they can walk on snowshoes. Anyway I would enjoy a hunt with you this winter, keep it in mind for when you have a good tracking snow.

I feel your pain Whitedog, I bought an abandoned farm house 15 years ago and went through the same thing. Don't know that I would do that again! I'm still working on it! Spent all last summer putting on Vinyl siding, this summer I am working on hardwood floors, we went with carpet the first go around, with four kids that was a bad idea they were rough on it, now I"m trying my hand at installing oak flooring. the best part about it is my youngest has grown up working on this place and can now fix or build about anything.

"I wish it would rain - not so much for me, I've seen it - but for my 7-year-old." (Old Texas Joke) Still no rain here, not much scent in the corn or on the roads, makes for tough running, even my cold trackers that can work up a track in sub zero weather are having trouble, may have to go to Blueticks, saw the "Northern Blue Team" truck go by the other day, he must be scouting woods out for the hunts.
