I have taken my young Walker to a fox pen to start & she is running fox real nice. When I try to take her to a coyote pen, she gets spooked & doesn't want to leave you. She is 10-1/2 months old & will open on a hot track, but just won't take it & go. At what age should I cut my losses? Should I give her a hunting season on the outside & she what she does. Thanks Jason

she is still very young, if she is a treeing walker it could take up to 2 years to get going realy good, but any type of hound 10.5 months is still very young to be pressured hard, if she is running the fox good keep her in the fox pen a couple more months then try the yote pen again, when you take her to a yote pen go far a walk with her in the woods, get her away from the fire pit and she will hark into a race, I sure hope there is other dogs running in the yote pen when you take her there, 10.5 months is too young to turn loose by her self in a pen full of yotes, she is young dont jump the gun and dump her yet, give her this winter and she should be going good, if she has it, keep us posted on her progress, happy hunting...

She is a tree hound, I always walk the pen with her. I have a 16 month old treeing Walker I run her with. She seems to have the tools, Guess I need to just give her some time & see what happens. I really don't have access to a fox pen often. But I can get her into the yote pen easier. I also think running her on the outside would build her confidence, where she isn't running into yotes very often. The 16 month old dog I believe is on her way. Hope to shoot some yotes this winter. Later Jason
