Well went out last night, took Bo and Foca, my buddy took 3 of his dogs. Dogs took off right away and within twenty minutes they were caught. We can here the dogs fightin it from the distance , but no squeal. We knew they caught something of fair size and took Foca on lead. Once we got there it was a nice sow and she was caught. She wasnt weighed but deffinitly was over 200lbs. Tico

Looks like a blast!
Since I am ignorant to the was of boar hunting... Do the dogs catch and kill or do they most of the time? Do you kill them and when you do, how do you do it?

Actually fieldwalker, the dogs can get killed alot easier than any hog. The only time the hogs can get killed by a dog is if they are small shoats. The dogs do their job by finding and baying the hog. Once it is bayed we release a catchdog(in my case a bulldog) to catch the hog by either an ear or the jaw. When the catchdog hits then the other dogs pile in and help as well. Once he is caught it is your job to get there as fast as possible and leg the hog and then flip him on his side and tie him. This is if you want to take hime alive, but, if you want him dead then you can stick him with a spear or knife. Its not for everyone but I do have to warn ya, for those who run dogs on hogs its an experience that becomes addicting almost from the very first time. Tico
