Whitedog board looks great man, keep up the good work bud.
Anyhow, aint posted here in awhile, I got on a rare type hunt two days ago and decided to share here with ya'll.
Hey whitedog, if ya talk with Jerry please tell him I said hello.
I'm gonna make a habit of stopping by more often.
Got permission to hunt a private ederly community where the hogs have been coming in from the neighboring slough's around the property.
I have never seen such damage done to private property as I witness yesterday morning and afternoon.
I mean these hogs would go along ways from cover and walk in this neighborhood on sidewalks and paved streets to detroy these St, Augustine lawns.
One ederly man with tears building up in his eyes asked If I can please help. His lawn had just been rooted up the night before and awoke to his freshly rooted up lawn. I asked to view the whole property so the board of director and the vice president of the place took me for a ride around the neighborhood.
I wanted a visual of where they were coming in from and possibly some frequented trails.
Inside the property where 3 sections that were wooded and the hogs were seen frequenting the area.
All the groundskeeper said they were in there so I began there.
I walked inside the 1st area some and it was freshly rooted so I decided to drop Bo down first.
Now I have golf courses and countryclubs all around me, all the residents where informed of my arrival so it was ok.
Within minutes Bo lets off a few barks, I released Dotty.
Suddenly, I heard them both bay and silence.
I ran across to the other end only stopped by the current trapper of the area. He began making threats and all, I brushed him off and told him to speak to the owner I had dogs to get too.
One of the groundskeeper took me and Rumbo on his cart, Mala was already loose as well.
A lady stops us and says they saw a few hogs run across the golf course with three dogs behind them.
We head that way to find Mala, and Bo in the center of a lake fighting a fairly large hog.
Mala and Bo had lost grip of it and seemed extremely exhausted.
The hog began making its way to the bank, I waited patiently with Rumbo on hand.
As soon as she got to the bank I released him.
He nailed her and both fell back in, I went in the lake up to my neck in water grabbed hold of the hog and pulled her out.
I had drawed a huge fan base with folks all around clapping and cheering me on, man it was great!.....lol
It was a huge sow with a belly full of young ones., weighing about 300lbs easy. I got her hobbled and it took four of us to load her on the cart and then on to my truck as well.
I then waited to get word from the board of directors about all the fuss the current trapper had started, he was making threats about calling authorities and all.
They came back and said, have at it young man dont worry about him. You keep doing what your doing.
Man were they happy to see that huge pregnant sow caught in less than 20 minutes....lol
See the trapper had been catching all the lil ones and charging them tons of money.
They gave me my own cart with a bed in the back to load my dogs and set me free....lol
Went looking to where I thought they had gone but found there tracks in a different direction in another wooded area behind some houses and condos.
I dropped Bo down again and it wasnt long before I saw her working some really fresh sign. I knew then it was the hogs we flushed out of the other area.
I told Papo to drop Dotty as well and to stay at the cart with the bulldogs.
I walked in the woods and within seconds another huge sow came out in front of me. I can see the concern in her gait, obvioulsy worried about what was about to take place.
I didnt wait on a bay and asked my brother to release the bulldogs ; Mala will take a hot track with no problem.
As Papo got there, The hog circled and came out in front of us again....lol
As it disapearred in the brush Bo and Dotty were right behind in pursuit.
I hear both bay up and then It was obvious when the bulldogs got there.
I had to stick this one and wanted her for the meat.
She was also bred up and really close to the three hundred lb mark as well I believe.
I drew another crowd from the houses around and within minutes had dozens of folks with cameras all around the cart. They even had water for my dogs in a bucket.
The older folks expressed how happy and thrilled they were to see me produce effectivly what the trapper could not do in months of being there.
They all knew that two pregnant sows out of the area meant less pigs to destroy property.
They all applauded my efforts and hoped I'd come back, I told them not to worry that they will see me and the dogs again.
